Bonifacio Global City Food Tour - Pasto and Establishment

IMG_4293IMG_4296IMG_4297IMG_4301

Last stop was Pasto, a good Italian resto in the Metro. It started in 2001, and was a good mid-range Italian Food. We ate all of these (photos above): Crostini with Pomodoro Salsa, Creamy Spinach and Chicken Pate; Pasta Genovese - Capellini with shrimps, arugula, pesto and nuts in a tomato cream sauce; Di Carne, which is an all-meat pizza; and Bianca, pesto based pizza with all kinds of seafood. :)

After that was Establishment. I had to leave earlier, so I just took a photo of Ivan's cue cards of Establishment and what they were serving the participants.

Bonifacio Global City Food Tour - Zao Vietnamese Food, TGIF and Yoh-Gurt Froz

Zao is one of the Vietnamese restaurants in the Philippines I want to eat in because they have good food with relatively affordable prices. They offered us fresh and fried spring rolls, rice noodle soup or Pho, and some barbecued pork, beef and shrimp satay or skewers.

After eating in Zao, we went to TGIFridays to try some of their famous food. They served us with nachos and a salsa dip, a pica-pica platter with their famous Jack Daniel's Chicken, Buffalo Wings and Quesedilla. I instantly fell in love with their Jack Daniel's Chicken. The flavorful and strong taste was there, without the alcohol, which is cool.

We headed to Hobbes and Landes right across the restaurant for our dessert - Frozen Yogurt from Yoh-gurt Froz, a brand that's carried in most Hobbes and Landes stores. Yoh-gurt Froz' yogurt tastes creamy and sweet. They have a variety of toppings, which the customers can pick from. The price is relatively worth what you are getting. I recommend this to those who want yogurt that tastes nearly like ice cream.

Bonifacio Global City Food Tour with Ivan Man Dy

Last Saturday, April 24, 2010, I joined Ivan Mandy's Bonifacio Global City Food Tour in the Fort Bonifacio grounds. We covered 3 locations, namely, Serendra, Bonifacio High Street and The Fort in a guided historical, fact-filled, and yummy, tummy-filling tour around 7 restaurants (see photo below), which graciously accommodated us participants and bloggers.

This is one of the signage/posters that was put up all around the Bonifacio Global City grounds. It is one of the events of the BGC in promoting arts and culture and the area itself to families, friends and to people in general.

Here are the restaurants we went to. First was at Cupcakes by Sonja and Miss Desserts, then we went to Zao, TGIF, Fro-Yo, Pasto and Establishment. I enjoyed every bit of the food and the facts that came with it. Today, I know that they'll be having a part 2 of the same event. I hope the participants now will enjoy it as much as we did.

I will post about the restaurants and the food we ate in a separate post. :)

Bigby's Titanic Treat - a dessert of the gods

DSCN5444

Among the hefty servings of Continental, Mediterranean, and Oriental dishes Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant serve, their Titanic Treat is a must, MUST try! It's 40 scoops of ice cream and toppings all over the place. This baby is the god of all desserts. Yes, be afraid. This enormous dessert is for those who are adventurous and who call themselves ultimate food lovers.

Owner Henrik Yu told us that if you'll order this with another person (meaning there's just 2 of you) and you guys finish it in 5 minutes, this Php 999 monstrous treat will be free of charge! Anyone up for the challenge? ^^

Bigby's started in Cagayan de Oro, and now, it has expanded to Metro Manila, in the newly opened Atrium in SM Megamall
