Bonifacio Global City Food Tour - Pasto and Establishment

Last stop was Pasto, a good Italian resto in the Metro. It started in 2001, and was a good mid-range Italian Food. We ate all of these (photos above): Crostini with Pomodoro Salsa, Creamy Spinach and Chicken Pate; Pasta Genovese - Capellini with shrimps, arugula, pesto and nuts in a tomato cream sauce; Di Carne, which is an all-meat pizza; and Bianca, pesto based pizza with all kinds of seafood. :)

After that was Establishment. I had to leave earlier, so I just took a photo of Ivan's cue cards of Establishment and what they were serving the participants.

Bonifacio Global City Food Tour - Sonja's Cupcakes and Miss Desserts

Our first stop in the Bonifacio Global City Food Tour was Sonja's Cupcakes at Serendra. In another food tour held by Spot.ph some years ago, we were also treated to these awesomely sweet but a little bit pricey cupcakes made by Sonja, who have had her training in baking in the United States. We were served (L-R,T-B in the photos above) Chocolate Overload - rich moist Valrhona chocolate cupcake filled with creamy ganache, and topped with velvety chocolate cream; Vanilla Sunshine - classic and fluffy yellow cupcake topped with either vanilla or chocolate buttercream.

Their popular Red Velvet Vixen - traditional southern cupcake made with Belgian cocoa and cream cheese icing; My personal favorite, Melt-In-Your-Mouth Flourless Chocolate Cupcake - Dense Valrhona flourless chocolate with rich velvety texture dissolved in your mouth with pure sublime flavor; and one of the less-sweet, more appealing flavors of Sonja, Choco Cream Pie - Rich, luscious, Belgian chocolate cream in Oreo crust and topped with mouthful of whipped cream and sprinkled with Oreo bits.

Alongside Cupcakes by Sonja's, Miss Dessert, a dessert establishment right to the right of Sonja's Cupcakes when you're facing it, sampled their sweets to the participants as well. Ultimate Brownie, Butter Cake and Lemon Squares were their treats for the afternoon :)

The next posts will feature the main course, a break from the main course, and pre-dinner meals. It was truly a yummy and filling event.

Bonifacio Global City Food Tour with Ivan Man Dy

Last Saturday, April 24, 2010, I joined Ivan Mandy's Bonifacio Global City Food Tour in the Fort Bonifacio grounds. We covered 3 locations, namely, Serendra, Bonifacio High Street and The Fort in a guided historical, fact-filled, and yummy, tummy-filling tour around 7 restaurants (see photo below), which graciously accommodated us participants and bloggers.

This is one of the signage/posters that was put up all around the Bonifacio Global City grounds. It is one of the events of the BGC in promoting arts and culture and the area itself to families, friends and to people in general.

Here are the restaurants we went to. First was at Cupcakes by Sonja and Miss Desserts, then we went to Zao, TGIF, Fro-Yo, Pasto and Establishment. I enjoyed every bit of the food and the facts that came with it. Today, I know that they'll be having a part 2 of the same event. I hope the participants now will enjoy it as much as we did.

I will post about the restaurants and the food we ate in a separate post. :)
