Beyond 2010: Leadership for the Next Generation - UP Academic Congress

Beyond 2010: Leadership for the Next Generation
A UP Academic’s Congress To Challenge our Next Leaders

February 1 to 5, 2010
Malcolm Hall, College of Law
University of the Philippines

This academic congress intends to identify the current issues, map the various approaches that have been tried in the past, provide some assessment of their gains and failures and draw out possible actions that must be done by the next administration. It is intended to empower the general public by making these issues transparent. It is not solely addressed to the candidates for the 2010 elections.

At the end of the forum, the public should be able to draw their own measurable objectives and milestones that can be achieved within the next six years hence allowing them to craft questions which they can ask from their candidates and make wise choices. The forum should draw responses from the political candidates that will go beyond mere generalities or rhetoric.

OPEN TO ALL! No registration fee required. To pre-register, please call the UP Law Dean's Office at 927-0518 or email academic.congress@gmail.com Please indicate your name, affiliation and the sessions you are attending.

Brain Food for LAE

Barbie got me to register for the Word of the Day at Merriam-Webster Online as one of our preparations for the upcoming UP Law Aptitude Exam (LAE) this November 22, 2009.

Since then, I'm receiving words that I'm sure will help me someday. But for now, our brains will only work if there is intake of real food, so here, enjoy some food photos of what I ate during the week (or last week):

The French Baker
French Baker
The Chicken Salad Croissant, chunky chicken salad with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber on a freshly-baked croissant, served with potato chips.

Saisaki Buffet
Saisaki Buffet
Priced at P455 and P555 during promo days, VAT inclusive, Saisaki (in Megamall) proves to be one of those restaurants which never runs out of customers. Saisaki is operated by Triple V Corporation which also operates Dads (Western cuisine) and Kamayan (Filipino cuisine). Thank you Mommy K! :)

Figaro Coffee

The Dory Provencal (Php 199), a pan-fried cream dory fish-fillet infused in zesty Provencal sauce. This meal comes with a pasta of your choice (Arrabbiata, Al Tonno, Carbonara, Classic Chorizo and Pesto), Green Salad and a choice of 12oz. Iced Tea or 12oz. Iced Coffee.

I think that after this, I should live an abstemious lifestyle, huh?

Accountability, not cha-cha

Accountability, not cha-cha
The "Accountability, not cha-cha" poster, placed strategically outside the College of Law, UP Diliman, and right where cars going around the Academic Oval can see clearly, was put up last week by the College as a statement to ponder upon.
