Despicable Me showing in the Philippines starting September 1
I can't wait for Despicable Me to show here in the Philippines. I've been waiting for months for this movie. I'm sure its cuteness won't disappoint. Hehe. So, yeah, I just wanted to share this trailer, and now, I'll go back to waiting PATIENTLY for the film. Advanced screening is on Aug 29, and it will be out in the cinemas on September 1. :) Toodles!

Best New York Cheesecake in Manila

DOME Cafe's New York Cheesecake is synonymous to food orgasm! Their version of the cake is the best tasting one I've had thus far. Suffice to say, it's a fresh and flavorful take at this simple variety of cheesecakes and fair enough, they did it justice!

Dome Cafe in Shangri-la Plaza Mall
From work, I met up with my friend over dessert and hot tea at Dome Cafe in Shangri-la Plaza Mall. I was surprised that they have a variety of food choices besides the desserts, coolers, and other drinks. We got waffles with blueberry and cream cheese and Nutella crepe topped with iced cream. The food's good and the place, simply amazing. :)

Secret Recipe's Nasi Lemak and Chocolate Indulgence

We tried out Secret Recipe in Shangri-la Plaza recently, I ordered Nasi Lemak (Php 280) which came with a free iced tea. Nasi Lemak is a famous Asian dish which is made of rich coconut rice perfectly paired with Rendang Chicken, crunchy fried anchovies and sambal belacan, a traditional Malaysian favorite. We also tried one of their bestselling cakes, the Chocolate Indulgence (Php 120 per slice), which is made of several layers of chocolate and mocha. The cake isn't too sweet and is very delicious. I enjoyed my first time at Secret Recipe because it serves not so expensive dishes, and you enjoy every bit of flavor in the dishes they serve. :)

Say ni Chiz - As narrated to Bibeth Orteza

Exactly a week ago, Senator Chiz Escudero launched a book entitled "Say ni Chiz (as told to Bibeth Orteza)" in the National Book Store in Shangri-la Mall Crossings. This book is a very handy compilation of truths in the life of Francis Escudero, when he was an average/normal young boy, to when he grew up as a lawyer, and to what we all know him to be now. It tackles his personal and political life, and a lot more. Through the language used to narrate the story, he made sure ordinary Filipinos would easily connect and understand him more. "Parts of the book tackle his brief but significant encounter with the late actor Fernando Poe Jr., whose 6th death anniversary is on December 14." (ABS-CBNNews) Senator Chiz Escudero once served as FPJ’s spokesman during the presidential campaign in 2004.
For me, this book is a light read and would be an ideal gift to your loved ones this Christmas :)
