Manang's Chicken - Ang Bagong Fried Chicken ng Pinoy

Manang's Chicken started out from the family dining table of Jill Gerodias Borja, the President and CEO of Manag's Chicken. Their family cook, whom they fondly call manang, would always whip up the bestselling "sweet, salty, crispy, juicy chicken" during family occasions. It went out to be offered in weekend markets, then finally, starting as a store in Ortigas, after it slowly gained its following due to its unique flavor. Now, they have 12 branches all over the Metro.

Their signature double deep fried crispy chicken with Manang's secret soy garlic sauce is a must try because it's the culprit, the one which started it all. You can choose from an original, mild spicy or extra spicy sauce.

If you're not into chicken, they have just released their new food item, the Garlic Pork rice meal. "Meat-lovers rejoice! Big juicy pork chop deeply fried until perfectly crispy and topped with their special garlic topping.

Mang Inasal Delivers in Metro Manila

"Yehey! for Mang Inasal Delivery." Mang Inasal, home of the real Pinoy-style Barbeque, recently launched its newest delivery service. Just dial Mang Inasal's delivery hotline at 733-1111 for the service. Now, the yummy Inasal chicken can be enjoyed in the comforts of your own homes. Two weeks ago, we were asked to try out this delivery service. I have to say that they delivered the order really fast. I hope they will still be consistent as time goes by.

All the food was neatly packed with the condiments, except for chili :( *In all fairness, I forgot to request for that*

Our order came from the branch nearest our house, the one in Puregold Fairview. They delivered one (1) order of PM1 Paa with rice and one (1) order of PM2 Pecho with rice. They also gave "extra rice" with it. I like the delivery service, and more so the food. Kudos Mang Inasal for this! Dial 733-1111 for Mang Inasal Delivery :)

Kentucky Fried Chicken's California Maki Twister

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Philippines recently launched it's limited edition California Maki Twister. At first it may sound weird, but trust me, it tastes good. It's a fresh take on the California Maki. Imagine your favorite California Maki (Cucumber, Mango, and Japanese Mayo) and KFC's famous chicken. Yummy. My brother says that it has hints of wasabi, but he's not really so sure. Maybe he's just imagining things. He apparently liked it very much, but I would say that he likes whatever KFC offers. Hehehe.

Starbucks Food Find

Have you tried the yummy Chicken Mango Wrap at Starbucks?

Last Sunday, after the Nike 10K Human Race, I finally got the chance to do so. Now I know why Achi Fran really loves this "chicken with green curry and mango sweetness combined in a wrap that will surely give you a surprise" concoction. :3

She suggests that you try it with a frapp drink.
I tried mine with my fave, Caramel Macchiato.

In other news, I would love that you have a bite of our cookie.

The Sicilian Express

In my frequent visits to Petron La Vista, Katipunan, I have dined in The Sicilian Express two times now. While I considered my first visit to be a disaster, today was pretty good.

Before, I ordered the Seafood Marinara (Pescatore) and the Creamy Chicken Soup. The soup was very thick and creamy with lots of chicken, onions,P1010088 and herbs, which came with two bite-sized bread sticks. I loved it. At that time, it was raining hard. The soup was served really hot, so it was a great filling experience. On the other hand, the pasta was a disaster. It looked like it just came out from the microwave oven. The taste wasn't so great also.

Today, Blanch and I ordered a Sicilian Chicken Sandwich (Php 85) and a regular 10" Cheese and Garlic Pizza (Php 210). The sandwich, which is one of the favorites of Reg, was surprisingly okay. Though the bread was smothered with this P1010088strong butter taste on the inside of the bread, the filling of chicken, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo was good, in the normal sense.

The pizza was their main attraction! The simplicity of the mix of cheese with garlic and a sweet tomato sauce base on thin crust definitely stole the show. Though the cheese didn't really stand out that much, for what it's worth, I like it. For me, this is a little better than the Quattro Formaggio I ate last time I went to Amici.
