Open Coca-Cola Jollibee Bottles Celebrate UAAP

I am a Coca-Cola merchandise collector; but specifically, I collect Coca-Cola cans and bottles from all over the world. My collection of Coke cans tallies to around 60 to date, and I hope to continue to expand it even more. Earlier today, I was awakened rudely by my little sister to show this:

Limited Ed. Coca-Cola Bottles

Well, normally I would have be annoyed with such intrusion, but today, I didn't mind. I was elated with what I saw. 8 new Coca-Cola + Jollibee (a leading fast food chain in the Philippines) bottles celebrating the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, or UAAP, spirit. I bought these today. I hope to collect all 8 soon!

Philippine Jesuits Ordained as Deacons

One of the most sacred and mystical sacraments of the Catholic church is the Sacrament of Ordination, a journey to Priesthood. But before that, he will have to be ordained, by the bishop (and faithfully serve) as a deacon.

Last Saturday, 7 Jesuit brothers - Cristopher "CRIS" Fajardo, Joseph "JHAW" Haw, Gilbert "NONO" Levosada, Marlito "LITO" Ocon, Alberto "TEX" Paurom, Roy Ragas, Karel San Juan - were ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Teodoro Bacani of Novaliches. He presided over the mass which started at around 08:30am at the Church of the Gesu, Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).

It was my first time to attend the Diaconate Ordination, and indeed, it was magical in many aspects. I was really trying hold my tears in many parts. The setting and theme was superb. Probably, that is the reason why I fell in love with the Gesu. The flow of the mass and the songs were heartwarming. The vow of chastity and surrender to being a good and faithful deacon by the candidates were really a bold and life-changing decision they took. Finally, after the bishop laid his hands on them, they became part of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Truly, it was an awesome and blessed morning for the candidates, their family and friends, and those who have attended the ordination.

P.S. After Fr. Robbie Sian, SJ, Brother Joseph Haw, SJ is the next Jesuit priest who became my teacher back in Xavier School. He was my adviser in 3rd Yr High School. ^^

Toblerone's Thank You Day Contest

SPREAD THE SWEETNESS OF GRATITUDE PHOTO COMPETITION

There are more than a thousand reasons why I should be thankful for - my family, friends, blessings, studies, career, etc; and at the same time, there are that much ways I can express my thanks and gratitude for all of these. Chocolates, flowers, thank you card, a kiss, what have you.

I guess, I would like to thank my cousins, for being always there, in good times and in bad times, for sticking with each other always. :) (P.S. Happy Birthday Lujean!)

Ong Cousins

Once again, October 20 marks the National Thank You Day, an event spearheaded and sponsored by Toblerone, a popular international Swiss chocolate brand, for the third (3rd) time.

This event highlights two simple yet powerful words - THANK YOU. We have seen how the Filipino people have expressed their love and gratitude to an international icon of democracy. Thank you President Cory Aquino. This is why, the thought that we, Filipinos, are well known to be very accommodating and hospitable people in the globe.

In the previous National Thank You Day, the Filipinos proved to the world that the country is united in gratefulness – debunking the Reader’s Digest survey which claimed that the Philippines is one of the least courteo
us nations in the world.

In line with this, The Philippines and Beyond, with Kraft Foods (Toblerone) and GeiserMaclang, Inc. will be launching this contest, "Spread the Sweetness of Gratitude Photo Contest," on how Filipinos can come up with creative ways to spread the gratitude fever by getting people to say ‘thank you’.

Mar Roxas gives way to Noynoy Aquino for President

"Noynoy and I want to make a difference, we need to unite to achieve what we want. I choose to lead unity, not division. Bilang Pangulo ng Partido magdedecision ako...This is about our people and our country. This is about our common dream, the dream of our forebearers. Let us not remain a country of dreamers. Tama na ang puro pangarap na lang. Today I am announcing my support for Noynoy Aquino for Presidency in 2010. Ito na ang pinakamabigat na decision sa buhay ko. Maniwala man kayo o hindi ginagawa ko ito para sa bayan, para sa inyo. I do this in unity for support of change. If that means somebody should make a sacrifice, it should be me. Ako na. I began the campaign to sow the seeds, you must now be the one to grow them in the arena of leadership. Hindi kami maghihiwalay ni Noy. I will stand with him." - Senator Mar Roxas

It is clear that Mar passed the torch to Noynoy Aquino, but he didn't categorically state if he will slide or run as Vice President or as a re-electionist in Senate. Noynoy Aquino, on the other hand, still isn't announcing if he will run or not. He can heed the call, or not. He can heed the call and run with another person, instead of Mar, and Mar goes back to Senate first. Let's watch out for what will happen.

Pass the RH Bill Now!

Time is of the essence. Congress will adjourn this October. We have until then to pass the bill. Talk or write to your District Representatives and Senators and convince them to support the passage of the Reproductive Health Care and Population Development Bill (Senate Bill 3122 and House Bill 5043)
