Since I wasn't able to go out and celebrate Earth Hour with the people in CCP Complex, where all the festivities were, we observed it instead at home. At exactly 08:00pm, my dad turned off the power. No electricity in the house. We lit candles for lighting.
To pass time, we took pictures of ourselves instead. I would link the photo album here, but I'd rather not because it's all vanity pictures. You don't want to see that. :))
An hour passed. A lot of pictures were taken. Earth Hour done. I'm glad we did it. I really hope we have Earth Hour every month at least?

which car would you want?
My friend, Jean, saw this Hello Kitty car parked outside Hyundai, E.Rod. Hello Kitty fans out there, what say you? xD
I, on the other hand, saw this nice car in Promenade, Greenhills. Definitely I want this baby! Wahh! :)) I parked beside it and took a photo of the beauty.

Pasig River Ferry Experience
Harrell, Joey, Kat and I went on a cruise on the Pasig River Ferry xD
We met 07:45am in UP, then drove to Guadalupe station. We passed by a lot of oil depots, shantis, factories, St. Jude, Malacanang Palace, and got down at Escolta station.
It was just 20 pesos for students (from one station to wherever) It is an inexpensive mode of public transport. It was so awesome - it's even air conditioned! You also get serenaded by "slow rock" 70s sing-a-long.
I laud the Phil. government for its efforts in reviving Pasig. I hope it would continue for the better. :)
Oh yeah, keep your eyes open for the PSG (Presidential Security Group) who will ride from one of the stations. They'll make sure that everything is secured when the ferry passes Malacanang. Damn. I saw what is printed on the back of the 20 peso bill! Niceee. xD
We went to Binondo. It was Joey's first time. Had fun "touring" especially when Harrell visited his aunt. (details will remain a secret for Harrell's sake?) Ate at Wai-Ying, Harrell's choice. It was delish!!
We rode back from Escolta to Guadalupe, then we went to Rockwell to cool off and hang-out after. We rode back to UP, and, eventually, home. Fun Day!
- We don't have pictures of Malacanang bec. we were not allowed to do so for (national) security reasons?
- I must say that joey's driver drives damn well (fast)
- We should finish the DVD some other time, eh?

Banana Peel
My shoti and I bought Banana Peel slippers. Actually he really wanted to buy a new pair because his slippers are worn-out already. Just to do something while he was looking for a pair, I tried out a size 13, but as I already know, it didn't fit. But luckily, I asked for a size 13 of the more expensive pair. Voila! Size 13 fits me. :)) I paid for my own pair. xD I really thought all hope was lost. It fits! yehey!! xD

Surprise, Surprise!
Patrick was really stressing out since weeks before about his 3 exams on his birthday. So just days before, I thought of surprising him. I got in touch with Joey and Hannah, and came up with a fantabulous (fantastic+fabulous) plan. I got Sheena and Tiffy too with the letters. Got help from Ces, Yao, Pam, Renz, Harrell and Maxi too♥
Sarah, Renz, Annabellee, Pao Pei, Merri, Harrell, Hannah, Joey, Tiff and I waited outside the Math building for Pat and Yao to finish their Math 17 exams. And then, we surprised him. :)) We kidnapped him and ate out at Pino Bar after (just near U.P.)

One Half and One Fourth Love
"Appear disappear, one half, one fourth, one fourth, one half, disappear, appear."
I was with one half of the incoming execomm (Alvene, Tiff, Thea, Merryan), and one fourth of the outgoing one (Kim, Laureen), plus Chris and Harrell, at Fazoli's Eastwood for dinner. We bonded over stories, food, and "ducks" instead of bridge (woah), which is the perfect CSA Bonding Experience (CBE)
This duck?? o.O
(Photo from: www.tubz.net)
I was as excited as Tiffy for her new MacBook! Welcome to the club new MacHead! Newb! (joke!) And now Kim, Laureen, Alvene and P want one...convert people, convert! :PSunday, March 16, 2008
SUBZERO
It's my second time to be in a cold storage. First was when we were buying fruits back when I was little, and second was last night, in the Be the Legacy Batch Project of UP-JMA's applicants.
As the ticket says, it's an "inter-org ice pageant." We fielded 3 contestants - Kirby Cheng, Sunshine Tan and Cherrie Ongteco. And so UP-CSA people trooped to the place to support and show our love. :)
Kirby Cheng emerged to be victorious as he bagged 3 out of the 4 awards for the guys. He was the over-all winner and got Most Photogenic and People's Choice awards. Sunshine Tan got in to the top 3, but fell short to win the top spot. Valerie Figueroa won over-all for the girls. :)

It was a great night. I love the coolness (edit: coldness) of the place. I hope it's like that everyday. But after you step out of the place, you are reminded that summer is just around the corner, and we have to work our asses off hard before we really enjoy. Fast-forward to Sem-Ender? Please!
things to look forward to: pat's birthday, mom's birthday, sem-ender, baguio-sagada trip, food trips with joey, tiff, hannah, and mark + food blog, summer vacation!!! and csa plan-sem :x

Trinoma with Cousins
I was all set in watching Colbie Caillat sing live at the TriNoma Activity Center. I asked Achi Denise if she could come with me to the event since everyone I know wasn't as sure as I am in going to the event. It turned out that Denise and Tippi were also going to TriNoma to have their hairs fixed (so.. yeahboy for the coincidence).
We went to Menage, and my cousins forced me into getting a hair make over, a new look (one that's more "presidential" - a "power cut"). And so the result of that is this...
I really like her songs; and watching her live, really felt good. I must agree that she sings a little better live. :) After having to stand for an hour or more, we went to Zong to eat dinner. You can't go wrong with Chinese food.
We ordered the Pan Fried Chicken coated with Salted Egg, Spicy Singaporean Fish Fillet (which is my favorite), Mixed Veggies, and the Yang Chow Fried Rice.

After having our haircuts, we proceeded to the Activity Center. It was jam-packed with fans and people (25% of whom, Denise bets, don't even know who they're watching). Too bad we weren't able to get seats inside the center. We were at the second floor. I saw her better on the camera of Achi Denise.♥

Transport Strike
The moment I left my house at around 6am, I lost all hope that classes would be called off. Since, they've already announced last night that there will still be classes even though the strike is an all-systems-go.
As we were passing by Fairview-Commonwealth, a very familiar sea of people were gathered on the streets (some clustering and taking 1-2 lanes of the road already), along the stretch of Commonwealth, waiting for public transportation to go to their work/school/destinations.
It was an unusual scene. Well, I can safely say that they were all stranded. There were no buses at all. FX Taxi, I'm not so sure...minimal to say the least. Jeeps that didn't go on strike were all full, to the point that every jeep has 4 people who were already clinging outside the entrance.
Beyond Philcoa (to UST) I really didn't know if people were stranded because I already dozed off - yes, sleeping in the car helps me a lot. And since I am the last person to be brought to school always, I get about and hour of sleep in the car.
I was brought to NCPAG at around 7:10. Then all of a sudden, Pats called, asking if there are classes. (Jamie says that there are no classes anymore, so he's confirming it with me.) Knowing that it might be a prank, I called my sources. But at the same time, I already called my dad, and asked to be fetched. (I thought, what the heck, I have not that much/no cuts in my PA121 and PA131 anyway..)
While doing so, the NCPAG SC Chair (Mich Jimenez) texted me. And since I've been trained in Journalism, I don't want na "makuryente," so I called up, and confirmed, and texted people after.
Going home, I still saw the people stranded on the streets.
So where are the promised trucks by the military? I didn't see any. But in all fairness, I saw MMDA vans and trucks transporting people. It isn't that much though to bring all of the people stranded to their destinations.
Poor them. :(

Behind the Face. Behind the Scene.
I went to school at around 9am, just in time to meet Ria, Dom, Tiff, Mark and Tim at the Aldaba Hall 10am to get the panel boards to be used in the UProject exhibit. We transported the boards to the College of Engineering using a truck, which we rented.
Tiff and I rode with Tim to Engg. Upon arriving there, Tiff had to leave because she had this batch shoot to attend to. We brought the materials (tarps, etc) to the Eng'g Lobby - where the setup is going to be.
Tim and I helped out until around 11:20, and headed back to AS after, in time for our 11:30 classes. We left Ria, Dom and Mark to set-up. Migs and Sean came later to help in setting up. I went back at around 1:10 with Hannah, and staple gunned the remaining tarps.
UPROJECT EXHIBIT ROCKS!!! ♥:)
THE EXHIBIT WILL RUN FROM MARCH 10-14, 2008. COLLEGE OF ENG'G, MELCHOR HALL LOBBY. SEE YOU GUYS THERE! :)

Phở Hoa ♥
Hannah, Joey, Kat and Harrell went to Pisay today for the Fair. And since they said they wouldn't take long, we planned to eat lunch at TriNoma. And so I met with them there. They went with Lance, whom Hannah "kidnapped" from Pisay.
We ate at Phở Hoa - Joey's favorite. I have never eaten there before so I was excited to try it out. I had the Marinated Shrimp with Grilled Pork. It tasted good. The marinated shrimp was just like any other - I think. In my opinion it went well with the rice and the pork, which was nicely done.
Harrell and Joey led us after to Dairy Queen. They were really walking fast. Kat thought they were in a hurry to get ice cream, but only Hannah and Lance ordered. All of us abstained. :))
We went to Kat's car after to play bridge for a while, then we went home.

Ultimate Frisbee Friday
Achi Denise, Tippi, Adi, and Tin went to UP today for our scheduled Ultimate Frisbee game! Justin got out of his Thesis class for a while to join us. I can't believe that it pushed through! Yeahboy! Next time ulit! :)
I met Denise, Tippi and Adi at the "tambayan" they claimed - the chair they carved their asses on daw near/along the Sunken Garden. Funny how they were really half-drunk, ecstatic and giddy of the things they saw in UP, and about being in UP in general. I brought them to the CSA tambayan, while I was changing to my shoes.
Achi Denise got to hear the Bong song again. eep. :\
Pats, Joey, Harrell, Maxi, Regi, and Paul played with us too.
The Ongs + Paul vs. CSA. So it was Adi, Tin, Paul and I vs. Pats, Regi, Maxi, Joey and Harrell. :))
After I got cramps, we've called it a match already. I think we won even if after for a while, I twisted my ankle, played 3 vs. 5 (because Tin already sat out), then had the cramps. Hee.
Yao made it, but not in time for the actual game. We were all sitting down on the grass at that time. Sayang!
And now, my right ankle hurts, but ultimately I enjoyed today. I'm glad you guys enjoyed too. XD

Birthday Blues
So I'm officially part of the 20 somethings. The "dreaded" 2 on my age, and being officially an adult, makes me want to add "teen" in twenty (twenteen) and for a year (even for just a year) be considered a "teen" still.
I can't believe it. But in as much as I thought it would be something like a "bam! you're now 20!" it's much similar to being 19. Yeah. Realizations, realizations. It's just the age. You're the same person. The same Bong to you.
Thanks to those who greeted and made my day much more special. "Sexy Time," according to Joey. :))
