Chocolate Kiss

Blanch, Reg and I recently met up and ate at Chocolate Kiss in UP. We caught up with one another, especially with Blanch, who is now in a far-flung college because she already shifted, if you don't know that little fact yet. (traitor! ahem :P)

While Reg got the Hainanese Chicken Rice, Blanch and I ordered the Red Pesto, something new on the menu. It is made up of fettuccine tossed with Spanish pimenton, fresh tomatoes, green olives, garlic, basil and Parmesan cheese simmered in olive oil. We had ours with grilled fish. (P198.00).

Also, we got the all-time-favorite chicken dish called Chix in a Basket. It is made up of sticks of chicken breast breaded and fried until golden and crispy. Served with French fries and barbecue or honey mustard sauce. (P198.00)

One evident detail which we noticed when we ate there was that the relative change in prices and the new menu. Though the prices of their dishes have gone a lot up I still think that it is one of the better, if not the best, food establishments in UP.

Giligan's Mishap

After the exclusive screening of The Mummy at Trinoma Cinema, we decided to eat dinner at Giligan's. (Giligan's is located at the 2nd floor, restaurants wing area near the soon to be opened Hot Shots restaurant.)

We ordered the Sizzling Sisig, Gambas and some Beef with veggies dish. Oh, and 2 big plates of rice, which the girls devoured :3

The food was great! No questions asked. I think that the food there was a little bit better than what Dencio's and Gerry's has to offer. Or I am just saying this because Giligan's offers a fresh taste to Filipino food than I usually eat at other Filipino-themed restaurants mentioned above?

So here's the mishap: After the eating and all was over and done with, we asked for the bill. After 5 minutes or so, it still hasn't arrived. And so, I asked for it again. They apologized and said: "Pasensiya na sir, sira yung computer, kaya minamanual lang." (Sorry, the computer's broken, we're just doing the computing manually.) Okay... Even though that's the case, waiting for the bill for more than 10 minues is not really acceptable (restaurant quality terms).

After a while, I asked for the menu, and told my companions to just compute it ourselves, and maybe just leave the money? We even thought of leaving the restaurant without paying; should they notice, they'll just stop us, if ever.

And since my parents were looking for me already, I left my share of the payment with them. So what happened after I left is that...they got impatient, and went to the counter/cashier and asked for the bill. That's just plain unacceptable for a restaurant! I jokingly said to them that they should've continued with the "walk-out" instead of paying. The wait for the bill is almost longer than eating what we ordered!

Asian Dragon @ Trinoma

Asian Dragon celebrated their latest issue by having a themed fashion show and an exclusive The Mummy screening last Aug 1, in TriNoma. With an effort to bring TriNoma closer to the Chinese-Filipino crowd, they partnered with the mall and its various shops in making the event possible.

And finally, with more or less two weeks in advance of planning, BFFL was complete. First time? :P Also, Delaney and I did some buddy activities :) Go buddy!

Chillax with BFFL

I had a great time with BFFL minus Rog, and Kent (aka. Mr. Sasaki). Barbie, Reg, Tenai and I pushed through with The Dark Knight yesterday afternoon at Trinoma. The last movie/escapade/outing we did was Cloverfield, which wasn't a good movie by the way. This trumps that over more than a hundred times!

If only we discuss this kind of stuff in Ethics and Accountability in the Public Sector, instead of some stuff we were discussing, I am sure that more people will get to recite. We may not be able to discuss this movie in just one class meeting. This is a perfect example of Ethic of Justice and Ethic of Care. Ah, but I digress. This movie is so mind-moving and really awesome! I'm glad we pushed through. You guys should really go and see the movie.

After going around, then eating dinner, and meeting up with Janel, we headed to Dencio's to chill and bond and eat and drink. Yesterday was a great night. Thanks guys! :)

P.S. Rog ha! naks.. ;) Kelan tayo makokompleto? And Mr. Sasaki too, you really should have watched with us! hehehe
P.P.S. Grabe bilib ako sa mga babaeng to.. basagan! :))

Celebration!

  • 121 went just like a breeze. It's the first time I didn't feel like sleeping in class.
  • We rushed (5-10 mins) a report of a classmate on income taxes and other taxes because our teacher wanted to watch the Lozada Senate inquiry/hearing. Yes, we all went to the CPAGE downstairs to watch it in their TV. Perfect timing. I don't know with you, but this is why I hate the Arroyo administration and especially Abalos and FG! (what "colorful words" I can say of them)
  • It was my lucky day. JACKPOT! First, it was like I was the only student in about 30-student filled room. "Marami pang vacant seats dito oh..Mr. Ong, transfer to the front. Pati yang katabi mo. Nakoo..I'll call you first sa recitation." Second, quiz! Yes. Internal Revenue Allotment (I think I got the answers right) Third, "Mr.Ong, please collect the papers of your classmates" Fourth, "Di ka pa tapos Mr. Ong. Akala mo ha.. So Mr. Ong, What's IRA?" O_O My God! This teacher really LOVES me! Fifth!!! I just felt really loved that time! :|
  • College Electoral Board voting was postponed to Monday. I have to make my essay now. Pray for me.
  • Barbie, Reg and Rog forced me to go to Trinoma and finally have a complete BFFL outing, "where it all started." Lets just say I gave in? (I know! I repent!) Kent went with us. Too bad, Tenai wasn't able to go, so in the end, we weren't complete.
  • We watched Cloverfield. It was one hell of a roller-coaster ride. Literally? My head spun and I felt dizzy after. Don, if by different you mean it makes your head spin round and round the whole duration of the movie, then yes it's different. Sorry Kent..next time would be better. :))
  • CSA Org Picture Taking! Take 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...
  • Lion Dance, Wushu and Fireworks...Fireworks was REALLY GOOD! Pao Pei, next time warn us when lighting fireworks, ok? Dangerous much! And don't light the finale first? But it was all great! Yehey! :)
  • Ate dinner with Pats, Sarah, Mark and Merryan at Max's QC Memorial Circle since my parents suddenly decided to eat out and pick me up at around 8pm. o_O But, thankfully, people were up for a dinner, even if it's just Jollibee? :P

pictures will follow soon, hopefully..
