Blog Giveaway #7 - Boxfresh Shoes

I have size 13 feet. Buying shoes for me in the Philippines is like looking for a needle in a haystack, or as I have previously blogged, is like a Cinderella story. Believe me, I have grown frustrated asking almost everywhere if they have sizes for my big feet. Most often than not, if not all the time, the answer is no. I hate it when after answering that they do not have my size, they will instantly look at my feet, as if I have a disease of some sorts. #TRUESTORY.

Anyway, this year, I was very happy when I finally found BOXFRESH, an early New York / Hip-hop inspired East London brand, which meant a pair of trainers being literally "fresh out of the box". It hails itself as "The Original British Streetwear brand".

The "Boxfresh" definition is "someone or something that is new and cool or innovative in a fashion sense." The authentic British Streetwear is multi-cultured, intelligent, witty, sleek and expressive, independent and always fresh.

Boxfresh apparel and footwear caters to the sophisticated urban street culture, mixing grungy overtones with sleek cuts and polished lines. Heralding the heroes of the street from musicians, performers, artists and creatives, we believe that "The sidewalk is the new catwalk".

For the latter part of the year, until December 31, Boxfresh has a promotion for people with big feet. You know as they say, BIG FEET MEANS BIG.....SHOES, of course! And Boxfresh is one of my trusted brands to provide shoes for people who have big feet like myself.

BOXFRESH PROMOTION: Print this photo-coupon and get 50% off on Selected Boxfresh shoes in participating RES|TOE|RUN and Bratpack outlets nationwide! (Limited time offer only). This coupon is valid for Size 11-13 US only. Not applicable in the following shoe styles - Zelos, Aidos, Ember 2, Khyke Tartan, Dalston. Valid only until December 31, 2011. Also, in the spirit of the season, The Philippines and Beyond will be giving away a pair of Boxfresh shoes to one lucky reader for him or her to enjoy. Read the mechanics below on how to join in the Blog Christmas Giveaway. Merry Christmas! :)

  5. Out of the box huh? Among us dormers, good food doesn't really exist since it's either cup noodles or expensive, bland tasting food from canteens. We all were tired of the usual food so I experimented with instant food to spice up me and my roommates gastronomic experience in school: I made no-bake cheesecake, cooked pesto macaroni (which went REALLY well with Sky Flakes!), mashed hardboiled eggs then mixed it with various condiments then served with Sky Flakes (again), and many more food experiments, which thankfully were all liked by my roommates :)) I guess it's nice to have "home-cooked" food once in a while in our school days :)

  10. i wear my sneakers {or my flipflops, whichever fits my mood at the moment} to just about anywhere, yes, including hotels + formal functions. I am just not at all comfortable with being "formal" + all the hoopla surrounding it. fashion for me is all about ultimate comfort + being comfortable in one's skin....

  27. On a friend's birthday, I forgot to bring the flowers my barkada bought for her, but there are no flower shops nearby.

So what I did was look for colorful paper at a nearby store, and made origami flowers with stalks instead, and wrapped them in a bouquet. She loved it and said she prefers them over the real flowers that wilt and die.

  28. I had one class where we are supposed to innovate, making a web tool. Having a "fresh out of the box" idea, I successfully managed to finish the task, making an online crowdsource tool for asking prices in stores.

  38. I love to cook and also bake. One day, when I was trying to cook a recipe, there are 2 or more ingredients that I lack at home. I looked in all the cabinets and cupboards to replace the ones in the recipe. Well, it was worth experimenting. It tastes really good.

  42. Had multiple activities scheduled for the week, aside from reports to be prepared. I had to stay calm and cool amidst all the pressures... time management, networking and a little delegating helped me accomplish everything successfully.

  43. One event where in I become innovative is when I was asked to design a costume for our "Nutrition week" at school. It was only a week before the event and I am rushing things out. Fortunately, the costume i made won first place. It's inspired by Greek myth, Athena, particularly.

Maybe, it's true that I work best when under pressure. :)

  51. fresh out of the box? Uhmm? I remember one time during college days since we are being trained as good public servants with my idea we came up with an activity of helping others. Instead of the usual NSTP class we went to a place that could be possibly in need of our help. We gather the children and set up a story telling session for a month, ofcourse we conducted feeding program. And if i am only blessed with such resources maybe until now i continuesly do the same

  56. My fresh out of the box moment was when me and my friends joined this amazing race in UP, we had a very hard time going thru the next destinations by walking because the place is of course, very big! We are not also allowed to bring money with us so we cannot ride the ikot jeepneys. Due to our tamang diskarte and doing what the drivers told us to do, we were able to convince the jeepneys for a hitch-ride! We won the race as champions. ;)

  57. My fresh out of the box moment was during our org's general assembly stage performance, we only had a few practice sessions and we are so not prepared. There were times that I would almost forget my supposed-to-be lines but then I'll come up with lines that are wittier ones and it cracks up the audience with laughter! I never knew that I would blurt out such funny lines! It turned out to be my best stage performances (impromptu style) ever!

  59. Share an event or a situation where you have been innovative, or "fresh out of the box", in fashion or in your respective fields (work, school, home, etc...) and how did it go?

Well you know fresh graduates? When we're just BURSTING with idealism? That would be it for me: I was able to bring this sort of idealism and eagerness into my scholarship interview several months ago. And I guess I was able to charm my panelists with it.

  60. I am on a tight budget this Christmas so instead of buying gift wrappers, I used old but pretty retaso to wrap the presents.
