Smart and MCA Music partner to build #SMARTMusic

The Philippines' largest telecommunications, Smart, has recently forged a broad partnership with the world's number one music company, MCA Music Inc., a Universal Music Group International company, to offer a "game-changing" online music service.

Considered to be one of the firsts in the world, this new partnership will make more than 3 million tracks in MCA Music's global catalog exclusively available to the over 70 million subscribers of Smart and the other mobile brands under the PLDT group (Talk 'N Text and Sun Cellular).

Smart starts offering content from MCA Music at very affordable prices, ranging as low as PhP 15 to PhP 20, through Smart Music -- http://www.smart.com.ph/music -- its newest online digital music portal which instantly becomes the country's largest digital store of its kind. Now, songs will be just in an arms reach, or rather, in a click of a button from your mobile phones.

Subscribers can pay for the song downloads using their prepaid load or their postpaid bill. This eliminates the need to have credit cards, which, admittedly, is a factor that barres many Filipinos from purchasing legitimate music online.

Beyond this music content distribution, the partnership also allows for extensive music marketing and branding tie-ups between Smart and MCA Music. For instance, Smart has the license to use Top 40 and catalog songs in MCA Music's full library in its promotional activities.

For the duration of the partnership, Smart will also be a major presentor of the Philippine concerts of some of MCA's international and local artists. Do I hear #SmartRihanna this September? You bet!

Lady Gaga's The Born This Way Ball Live in Manila

Thanks to @SmartCares and Abbie for the tickets to the #SmartLadyGaga The Born This Way Ball at the newly opened SM Mall of Asia Arena last May 21. It was a 2-day sold-out concert, which had its own controversies and exaggerations, but it went so incredibly well, no one could have stopped Lady Gaga's awesomeness. I didn't expect it to be that good - the opening (DJ Zedd), the production, the set, the effects, Lady Gaga herself, her costumes, her moves, everything. Good job and congratulations :) Here are some photos we took during the concert.
