Smart starts offering content from MCA Music at very affordable prices, ranging as low as PhP 15 to PhP 20, through Smart Music -- http://www.smart.com.ph/music -- its newest online digital music portal which instantly becomes the country's largest digital store of its kind. Now, songs will be just in an arms reach, or rather, in a click of a button from your mobile phones.
Subscribers can pay for the song downloads using their prepaid load or their postpaid bill. This eliminates the need to have credit cards, which, admittedly, is a factor that barres many Filipinos from purchasing legitimate music online.
Beyond this music content distribution, the partnership also allows for extensive music marketing and branding tie-ups between Smart and MCA Music. For instance, Smart has the license to use Top 40 and catalog songs in MCA Music's full library in its promotional activities.
