Aria opens at The Fort Bonifacio High Street Central

Aria Cucina Italiana is now open at the Fort Bonifacio High Street Central, the new wing, in Taguig, located just adjacent SLICE. I brought my boss and colleagues at the Department to try this restaurant, which is on its soft-opening last week, and all I can say that it passed our "Standards" (no pun intended). I can't wait to go back for more!

Our main motive that night was to try SLICE, but before that, I suggested that we had dinner at Aria, so that we could also try the place. Since I haven't eaten in Aria before, I was excited to try it out for the first time, and discover why foodies rave about this restaurant and their pizzas, pastas, and other treats.

We ordered the Insalata di uva, lattuga, accluga e mozzarella, which is simply a salad made of lettuce, grapes, anchovies, and fresh mozzarella tossed in balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was a simple salad dish, light, a little lacking in taste or kick, but nonetheless very fresh.

Next up was the pasta, Tagliatelle con tartufo, asparagi e prosciutto di parma, or the homemade tagliatelle with white truffle, asparagus, and parma ham. Since they didn't have white truffle that night, they asked if they could replace it with black truffle instead. We found it really good. The flavors created an exciting play with the taste and smell, which we all liked.

Last, but definitely not the least, was Aria Cucina Italiana's pizza. Since we wanted to try more flavors, we opted to get a half-half of two flavors. We ordered the Quattro formaggi x Frutti di mare. At first glance we thought the pizzas were simple, but its flavors burst as we took our first bite. The Quattro formaggi or four cheese had Pecarino, Feta, Parmesan and Mozzarela in it, while the Frutti di mare had tomato sauce, garlic, seafood and Mozzarela. We loved them all.

It was quite unusual to see a lot of wait-staff inside and outside the kitchen, given that they just opened, so USec. Baba asked why they had that much people. We learned that they are the pizza-makers of the chef, as their pizza are all hand-made. I wonder if that's the secret to their famous pizza? :))

After I finally tasted Aria Cucina Italiana's famous pizza, you know you can't go wrong with any of them. I need to go back to try to discover and know the secret behind their thin crust, mouthwatering, cheesy pizzas. You can still join Aria Cucina Italiana's Facebook contest. They're generously giving a trip for 2 to Boracay and a chance to dine in at Aria Cucina Italiana Boracay. :)
