DTI Complaint concerning Chowking Orange Chicken event prize

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE: This issue has been resolved. See Chowking and Visions PR Deliver My Orange Chicken Dance Prize. Thanks!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, friends! As I've been waiting for 4 months for my Samsung Corby to arrive, I've been thinking: Is it time to finally file a complaint to DTI? I did talk to my Chowking/Visions PR contact person about my plans of filing a complaint but since she said that it wasn't necessary, I gave them time to deliver. Well, enough time I did give them so after 4 months,  I have finally drafted my letter of complaint.

You probably know about the Orange Chicken event last March 18 wherein two lucky people were chosen as winners of the Samsung Corby prize. They only had one unit ready for the winners so they asked me to give my contact details so that they can contact me. They never contacted me. A month after, I took the initiative of sending a message to the concerned party through their Facebook page. Many promises after and 7 days away from the 4th monthsary of the Orange Chicken launch, I am still without a Samsung Corby.

Please read my letter of complaint addressed to DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo. I sent the complaint through their on-site complaint form but I'm not sure if it got through so I'm still searching for the e-mail address of the Sec. Domingo and other possible DTI contacts who can help me on this matter.

It's not just about me getting the phone but it's more on a food franchise giant and its partners delivering and keeping their promises to their consumers, us.

First exchange of communication after some time of not hearing from them:

Repost if you will. :) Thank you!

  1. I think you're doing the right thing, Bong. They can't promise things for the sake of publicity without delivering it in the end. It's just bad practice, and should not go unnoticed by the DTI.

Update us on DTI's response, or if you finally get your phone as promised.

  9. This blog post would probably render more harm to the company than your email to DTI. Haha. :P

  10. @Chino Yray: Thank you!
@cheftonio: Well actually, ako rin wala nun. Hehe
@karolsee: I gave them enough time? I really didn't want to do harm, but I was urged by my media friends and other friends to do it already.

  12. Yikes! Another PR failure?

    Just curious:
Bong, will you take down this blog post if they send you a written explanation, the prize, a public apology, and Chowking gift certificates? =)

  13. i guess you should complain.. in the first place they should have registered the promo with the dti.. and secondly, they are duty bound to fulfill their promise..

  17. Update us :)

And yes, it IS bad practice.

Either the people who are working there are lazies or else they really don't want to give you your prize.

If they can't deliver, they shouldn't have offered.
