Online Contest: Win a Havaianas Limited Edition Leisure Towel

Havaianas together with GeiserMaclang and The Philippines and Beyond will be giving away a Havaianas Limited Edition Leisure Towel to one lucky reader!

Havs Towel 1

You just have to answer this question in the comments section below: WHAT IS YOUR MOST CREATIVE WAY OF USING A TOWEL? Please leave your name and e-mail address with your answer. It's that simple! This contest will run until January 9, 2009 :)

To every towel there is a purpose.

Some are meant to be kept demurely folded in guest bathrooms; some are used by martial artists for self-defense; but others—those cut from heartier stock—are the kind you want to have on your back as you jet set through the holidays.

In fact, if pop culture’s most reliable handbook for space travel, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” is anything to go by when it referred to the towel as “the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have”, it’s the best Christmas present you could possibly give this season. And while only a few will be given the chance to go on an intergalactic journey, this doesn’t mean it still won’t be a welcome addition to anyone’s holiday gear.

This is why you should check out the latest addition to Havaianas’ arsenal of travel essentials: the Havaianas Leisure Towels that mirror the versatility and convenience of the world-famous favorite flip-flops brand.

Havs Towel 2

Snap up the special edition, travel must-have for yourself or give them away as gifts and get creative. The jazzy towels are made of plush and absorbent terrycloth that makes it the ideal seaside companion as you stretch across the scorching sand; or share the comfort of 100% cotton as you leisurely enjoy a sunny picnic. Plus, at 3.28feet x 4.92feet, it’s something big enough to stretch out on, but easy enough to tote around and zip up in your carry-all with ease.

So the next time you hit the surf or the road, leave the monogrammed bath sheet at home and travel right with the versatile and made-to-last Havaianas Leisure Towels.

The Havaianas Leisure Towels are available starting December only in all All Flip-Flops branches – Bonifacio High Street, Glorietta 3, Mall of Asia, Alabang Town Center, RP Ermita, TriNoma, Greenbelt 5, Session Road Baguio, Robinsons StarMills Pampanga, SM City Batangas, SM City Iloilo, SM City Cebu, SM City Davao, SM City Cagayan de Oro

  4. Towels can also serve as a home decor. Towels placed inside a jar instead of artificial flowers are attractive especially if the towels blend to the color of your home.

  5. a towel can serve as a handy beach bag which you can fill your items up complete with a sling pa to make it more fashionable ;)

  6. Aside from the obvious reasons of utilizing towels, I kinda used mine to save face. Hehehe. I once had this light violet towel that I used to cover a "red stain" on my soft blue-colored skirt. The red stain was from a spilled catsup I sat on while dining in McDo. I wouldn't mind sporting it up as it was but it looked like I had those bad feminine days. Used my towel by clipping one corner on top and letting the other 2 sides pinned covering the stain. It looked weird but the colors kinda matched up. :)

  9. Towels as i've found out are great... warmers! As much as they're associated with the beach and bathing and all, towels give much needed warmth in the most surprising/desperate of times. I recently endured 2 hours riding at the back of a biiig cargo truck at night. With nothing but flimsy clothes in my bag, my big fuzzy towel saved me from the harsh evening chill, not to mention the dust! That's why i've decided never to go on a trip without the versatile towel. To the beach or otherwise.

  15. I once attended a seminar on play therapy. The speaker emphasized that the ultimate goal is to encourage self-discovery through active imagination. With this in mind, I think a towel is the perfect tool that can facilitate setting up the backdrop of the child’s play. I was “playing” with my niece at the beach once and while we are stepping inside a hug fluffy white towel, she imagined the ice queen with her ice castle taking a tropical vacation.

  16. One of the simplest ways to add color to your bathroom is by using a variety of towels. While hanging towels over a towel rack is nice, consider trying something a little different and creative to really catch the eye. For example, buy an inexpensive wine rack that holds four to six bottles of wine. This should be a rack that can be set on a counter and not take up too much space. Get one small hand towel for each wine bottle opening in the rack. These can be towels of all different colors or towels in a similar color scheme. Just choose whatever will look the nicest in your bathroom. Fold each towel lengthwise in half and then roll the towel up starting from one end going to the opposite end. Place each towel in the rack in a similar manner to how you would place wine in the rack. For a more elaborate look, tie a decorative bow or ribbon onto the rack. Place the rack on your vanity or other area of the bathroom where you have extra space.

When your a beach fanatic like methen its a must to bring a huge towel before you got to the beach, a towel has many purposes, but for me one of its most important purposes is that it protects you from the heat of the sand, just lay it over the sand and lie down, its a very relaxing feeling to just lay down on a beach.

  32. Hmmm... I think it's by far the most comfortable baby sling someone could have. Just make sure you use fabric softener when you launder your towel, and I'm sure you and your baby will be able to have a comfortable, albeit fashionable, time.

Of course, you would need to use some safety pins and other belts to secure it, but if you're able to properly fix the pins, it looks and feels great.

  33. Now I definitely wonder why some kids get bummed out when receiving towels for Christmas.

When we were kids, my brothers and I would usually use towels as toys. Most of the time, they were used as capes when we would role-play as heroes (eg. Superman, Batman, even Robin). At times, we would also use towels as weapons (a.k.a. whips) for the said role-playing. With sheer imagination, towels could ultimately beat out any toy. :P

  35. towels are my everyday emergency bestfriend. it's a wet-absorbing material - you can use it as an emergency diaper for your kids or napkin for those unguarded moments. ;) towels give me warmth in the coldness of the night or gives me protection from ultraviolet rays of the sun. towels give me the comfort that i need every time i need a pillow, blanket or mat to hug and touch with. towels are also a good camouflage material for hiding anything in your body or hiding from those you don't like to see or if you don't want to be recognized by people. i also use if i don't have a bra or underwear or just to cover my extra fats. last but certainly the most important one is that towels are your first and foremost BIG tears-and-goo-absorber every time you have those down and out moments of your life. you see towels are a part of my life. i can't imagine my life without them. i love my towels! :)

  36. Got any idea in proposing marriage to someone you love?

    Banners are worn out....
Roses are too expensive to be written into words so as the balloons....

We can always use alternatives for making your proposal a unique one. Use something which you already have, something that you can borrow from your friends, neighbor and anyone, use TOWELS in forming the words "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"....a very affrodable and accessbile way to make your proposal creative and full of effort..

Summer is coming...you can use colorful and bright towels just like the havaianas towel. This gimmick is a sure hit especially when you will ask your girl on the peak of summer while you're on the beach...
    uhmmm..many people...yet many will apprecaite your effort..^_^

  37. I could wax poetic about the virtues of towels but it won't do it a bit of justice. Suffice it to say that going without a towel is like going without a skin. Nothing to protect us with against the wet, the heat and anything in between. Not only are towels practical, it can even be fashionable by wearing it in a variety of styles and colors. So forget about pricey wraps and sarongs and go instead for the more practical and yet infinitely useful -- towels.

I use and tuck practical items in the towel roll such as wraps and blankets to cot sheets, bibs, toys, rattles, flannels, socks, etc. to produce a decorative & appealing gift with a difference.

  42. I'll shape the towel like a pole and tie it up vertically on the ceiling in the middle of the room. Out from the bathroom i'll dry myself swinging using the towel ala-Tarzan or the ladies can do pole dancing with it while i watch. :-)

  44. You can use your towel to carry things in case you do not have a bag. Just knot the four corners of your towel together, and your towel bag is ready to use.

  45. I have used a towel as an art painting canvas using acrylic paint.
I have also used a towel, instead of a conventional non-artistic paint brush, to paint an interior wall of room. The towel produced a matte-like 'rough' effect on the wall which I like very much.
