my|phone Q22 Duo Qwerty Series Unboxing

I woke up this morning (afternoon already I think) to an unusually quiet home. Apparently, I learned from my sister that my parents went to the my|phone QWERTY INVATION ONE DAY SALE (09:00am to 09:00pm) at the Greenhills Theatre Mall. The gist of the SALE is that you have to trade-in any bar phone (non-qwerty), working or non-working, and get the Q22 Duo Qwerty Phone for only Php 2,999. It's really a good deal, methinks.

Now that they're home, I am surprised that they were able to buy 3 phones. What's best, is that they gave me one. Early Birthday gift for the win!! :)) They bought two Q22 Duo Pinoy phones and one Q22 Duo Twilight phone. What's the difference? Look at the photos below to see the difference. Remember the my|heroes - The Ninoy and Cory phone from Sister Mary Jo? This is an equally great gadget.

Here's the Twilight QWERTY phone. I sure this will be a hit with the girls. HAHA!


Here's the Pinoy QWERTY phone. This is what I got! :))


The phones run on a microSD card. It is a Dual SIM QWERTY keypad phone, 900/1800/1900 Mhz, 2.2" 200x176 pixels TFT, 1.3 MP Camera, MP3/MP4 player/Stereo FM radio, expandable memory up to 8GB, bluetooth/USB/Java capable.


When you switch on the phone, this screen will greet you. Notice the Philippine flag emblem at the center of the phone.


When you go to the main menu screen, this is how it will look like. The center icon which is shaped like the flag you saw earlier is the Pinoy Phone exclusive icons - Prayers, Great Filipino Quotes, Bugtong (riddles), Salawikain (proverbs), Joke Joke Joke, Famous Movie Lines, OPM, Sing-a-Long, Tunog Pinoy, among others.


You can see the other menu icons of the phone. Sadly, it isn't wi-fi capable/enabled, so using these icons (Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Google, PEP, etc) needs the internet, thus it needs your network providers' services, which will, of course, cost you some damages.



P.S. My brother said that this is so Pinoy, because of Friendster, PEP, and other applications in it. It just sucks that it has no WiFi! Ohwell, you can't have everything? :))
